Homespun felt flower embellies...

...wishing for some sunshine so it feels warmer than it really is today. I hope you all are having a great weekend in the midst of this chilly winter season.

I just wanted to share one of my favorite addictions of late... making die cut felt flowers as embellishments for cards and gifts. I've been using Spellbinder's Shapeabilities Flower Creations 3 to make all of these guys... such a fun set.

Some cards that I've made with them...

And a little gift set that I put together for the silent auction at my daughter's school fundraiser.

To make this project:
BOX
1) purchase an unfinished wooden box at your local craft store
2) a. paint with acrylic paint  b. sand when dry for vintage look
3) adhere patterned paper to the top and inside of box
4) embellish with felt flowers and and pearls

CARDS
1) cut cards from cardstock (or buy pre-made card bases)
2) a. cut patterned paper slightly smaller than size of card  b. using same acrylic paint that you used to paint your box, paint around edge of patterned paper  c. stitch around edge of patterned paper  d. adhere to card
3) adhere felt flowers to card

EMBELLISHMENTS
1) select felt color (I simply used inexpensive craft felt from Michael's)
2) cut 2-4 layers with die (various sizes)
3) a. stack layers as desired  b.  fasten by sewing in middle with floss
4) finish off by sewing on button
5) adhere to card with leaf or leaves using wet glue or glue dots
