Wednesday Wisdom- You Live and You Learn

Not a whole lot of wisdom to share this week. I'm still wrapping my mind around something that happened to my family this past Saturday night... here's the story. I bought my husband a grill for Father's Day. He waited over a year for this grill (that's another story), loved it and was so excited to finally have it. He spent about 3 hours putting it together in the middle of our living room. He was practically giddy when we carried it out to the patio about 11:30 pm that night. The last thing he said to me before bed was, "I do hope you know we are having hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner tomorrow night." The next day I was up early around 5:30 am and thought I'd go check out our new grill... so I walk out on the patio and it was gone. GONE. I walked back into the kitchen, walked back out (thinking I was half asleep)... GONE. Within 6 hours of taking the thing out of the box... GONE. How did that happen? Of all the dumb luck, we happen to put our brand new grill out on the night that there is a rash of outdoor patio thefts in our area. I guess we'll be getting a fence... and then another new grill.

So here's a card using Laura's Sketch 29 from 2 Sketches 4 You and a little Cosmo Cricket cuteness.

I got excited when I saw that Dawn posted another Color Challenge. Whoot! Whoot! So here is my take this week's challenge.

Hope you all are having a good week! Thanks for stopping by:)

That is so terrible about your husbands grill!! :(
There's always someone who ruins everyone else's fun isn't there?

I love your cards, the colours for Dawn's challenge were very challenging for me - you've done a great example!

Love the diagonal lines on this...very unique! So sorry to hear about your grill...it's so hard to understand people who steal without a conscience..what goes around comes around, though.

Love both of your cards! Great use of ribbon. So sorry about your grill. I have been wanting to buy my hubby one for 2 years now. Ours is 13 years old. He is so cheap that he insists it's fine. It CAUGHT OF FIRE a few weeks ago. He is a fireman so he just slowly put out the grease fire while continuing to BBQ the burgers....still insists it's fine. No new grill here either. I hope your hubby gets a new one and you should have STEAKS to celebrate!

Cute card! I love the designs of them both! Sorry about the grill, people have stolen stuff in the middle of the day at our house, worth alot of money, the cops seem to do nothing, I guess that's way they keep doing it! We just have to look at it as, maybe they needed it more! :) (It's still wrong though!)

Oh! That is just so sad about the grill!! Poor Brian--I can imagine his face when he heard the news. :( Funny--we just got Will a grill for Father's Day too. All I have to say is if someone makes it through the mosquitos in the backyard to nab our grill, more power to them. ;) Love your cards. You gonna do a "condolence" card for Brian's loss??

I came by looking for your card for Dawn's color challenge and instead of one card, I'm treated to two great cards!! Love that line of black bling leading your eye to the sentiment on your color challenge card! :>
