Pretty in Pink

Hello, I'm here to share a few cards created with GCD's Sweet Tooth collection today. Everything about this collection is just darling... from the pink dot flower patterns to its spring motifs with birds and butterflies to its delicate color palette.  So what to do with such a darling collection? Well I of course wanted to create something for my sweet four year old daughter who always goes for the pink items in  her closet before all others.
Sweet Tart and Cherry Cordial patterned paper from GCD Studio's Sweet Tooth Collection
This one was created by layering a little fussy cut design elements on my card with foam tape... a simple way to add a bit of detail to a project. Then bling it up and you have a special card to share!

Go-to Gal Designer Challenge: Bazzill Basics Paper

Hello, hello! Today is a great day here on the blog because its time for another Go-to Gal challenge!

On the last Wednesday of the month the Go-to Gals take turns picking a manufacturer and challenge each other to create something using products from that manufacturer. It's a fun little hop to see how we put some of our favorite goodies to use. There are really no rules... some times we all play, some times we don't. But it will ALWAYS be fun!

Today we are all featuring Bazzill Basics Paper. I've been a long time fan of several of Bazzill's collections, particular the Prismatics Cardstock (love that texture!) and Smoothies. Smoothies is so versatile... it can easily be stamped, die cut, embossed, punched... and it has my go-to color for cardstock- kraft. Anyone else a big kraft fan?
To create this card I punched three layers with a border punch and then simply layered a few favorite embellishments that were laying in my desk.

So now its time to check out the other Go-to Gal's blogs! Stop by and say hi to BetsyJenniferKim & Teri

Have a wonderful day!

Products used: cardstock (Bazzill Basics Paper); trim & buckle (vintage); ribbon (Stampin' Up); flower (Zva Creative); blinged floral brad (The Paper Studio); punch (EK Success); sentiment (October Afternoon).

Zva Creative March DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to our March blog hop!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative’s blog! Be sure head on over to check it out! Leave a comment there for a chance to win an extra prize package just for visiting the blog and telling us that you stopped by! You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was will be sharing a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.  If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.
So do you like pink & cream? I think it is a great combo for an elegant new baby card. Here I used a cream pearl flourish with a combination of Zva's blooms to make a sweet card for a new little baby.

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

Hidden on FIVE of the designer’s blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.
The Blog Hop starts today, March 26th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, March 27th.
The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 28th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Zva’s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
*Hop over to Zva’s NEW blog and leave a comment there to tell us that you made it there!

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative’s NEW blog. Your next stop is the blog of Fabi Ormerod. Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!

P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on April 30th for our next Zva blog hop!

29 Again?

Hello... Happy Saturday!

Here's a little card I made for a girlfriend who is turing 35... yes, that's a tough one for some of us... the thought that you are now just five years from 40.... well... I guess it won't seem like such a bad thing in another 10 or 15 years. Right?

To create the card I started by creating a square card from cream cardstock and added a yellow damask mat (Teresa Collin's Carolina Breeze collection). I then cut and embossed the circle from kraft cardstock with Spellbinder's Splendid Circles (S4-354), placed a disc of patterned paper (Crate Farmhouse collection) underneath and adhered it to the card with dimensional adhesive. Lastly I embellished with two smaller cut/embossed circle dies and an assortment of flowers (Zva Creative, Michael's Stores Inc. and Jillibean Soup). Lastly I stamped the sentiment (Technique Tuesday), created the flag and added it to the card with leaf pins (Maya Road). Note: all edges are inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger).

Well, I'm off to pack my bags for Arizona. Spellbinder's Design Team retreat is coming up quick... in just four days I'll be on a plane on my way there! I can not wait to get there to meet many new friends and be with such wonderful people from a great company.

Have a great one!
