Escape

Escape is such a thankful Word

Escape is such a thankful Word
I often in the Night
Consider it unto myself
No spectacle in sight

Escape -- it is the Basket
In which the Heart is caught
When down some awful Battlement
The rest of Life is dropt

'Tis not to sight the savior
It is to be the saved
And that is why I lay my Head
Upon this trusty word.

Zva Creative May DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to join us for our May Blog Hop! We are happy to have you join us and hope you enjoy all that we have to share with you along the way!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative’s blog! Be sure head on over to check it out! Leave a comment there for a chance to win an extra prize package just for visiting the blog and telling us that you stopped by! You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.  If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

Today, I used Zva's orange flourishes and flower to decorate a little straw bag that I picked up at Target for $2.50.  To adhere the flower to the bag, I used hot glue. and I even added a few drops behind the flourish to ensure that it stays put in hot weather.

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!
Hidden on FIVE of the designer’s blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.
The Blog Hop starts today, May 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, May 29th.
The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 30th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Zva’s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this blog post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
*Hop over to Zva’s blog and leave a comment there to tell us that you made it there!

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative’s blog. Your next stop is Christin Grønnslett    . Enjoy!

Dare to Dream

How is the end of spring going for everyone?  We've had some fabulous weather around here... its been good for the end of school... and life in general. So what is new with you? I have a new preschool graduate and soon to be five year old. We've been running nonstop and are looking forward to a weekend without any soccer games. We are soooo ready for a lazy summer. Heck, I may even start blogging more:) No promises though, because my kids are number one in my life right now... and time is fleeting.

Speaking of my kids, today I have another scrapbook page to share with you staring my oldest daughter as a three year old. I created this layout for Spellbinders Paper Arts.
To create the details on the page:
  • cut/emboss foil frame for my daughter's photo with Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals.
  • cut/emboss flowers with Grand Peony
  • emboss flowers Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ Flower Fun folder, then hand paint the embossed detail for multicolored flower and mist for solid flower

Well I will be back on Monday for Zva Creative design team's May blog hop. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Spellbinders Spring Blog Hop and Giveaway Day 3

Hi all! How is everyone doing today? Are you enjoying Spellbinder’s Spring Blog Hop so far? If you are just joining in, be sure to hop on over to Spellbinder’s Blog so you can catch up on all of the beautiful projects that were shared on Monday and Tuesday as well!

Today I’m happy to be showing a scrapbook page that I created using Spellbinders™ Edgeabilities® Classic Decorative Inserts One to create texture on my page.
Supply List:

To Create Scrapbook Page:

1) Trim Dolled Up “Cute” Garden patterned paper to a square that measures 11½” x 11½” and adhere to a 12” x 12” kraft cardstock base.

2) Trim Howdy Doody “Baby” Lacey patterned paper to 12” x 6” and adhere to center of page.

3) Cut kraft cardstock to 12” x 4½”. Draw centerline down on paper.
Add lines at 1” increments out to edges of paper from centerline.

4) Lay out hearts decorative insert on center pencil line. Secure in place with tape and cut pattern.

5) Continue building and cutting pattern with tulips and beads decorative inserts, using pencil lines to line up die templates across page.

6) Once full pattern is cut across paper, adhere blueberry and marmalade cardstock to back (this will cover your pencil lines so you won’t have to erase them).

7) Adhere patterned kraft strip and photo (5”x7”) to layout.

8) Cut two kraft strips to measure 12” x ½”. Cut with beads decorative insert. Adhere blueberry cardstock to back and attach to layout as top and bottom borders on page.

9) Adhere sentiment sticker and title.

10) Cut and emboss two flowers from marmalade with S4-357 Spiral Blossom Three. Adhere to page with hot glue at bottom left corner of photo.

11) Tie bow and adhere to page.
