Welcome Cards for Heroes Fans and wonderful blog followers! This is my post for Cards for Heroes Happy Holidays for Heroes Mini Bloghop which takes place on Saturday, August 15th. So if you are hitting this post before the 15th, please stop back then once we are all linked up for a holiday bloghop that is sure to please!
You won't want to miss it because it will be a great way to pick up some holiday card making ideas while getting to know more about Cards for Heroes, an organization with the mission to support our nation's armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.
Well, here is a glimpse of the holiday cards, I'm preparing to send to CFH. Because I am making so many cards, I usually use the KISS theory for making my holiday cards.
Tip: to alter the white foam letter stickers that I used on my first card, I simply stamped them with a small circle stamp in a random pattern.
Inside of JOY cards read: "You are my joy... happy holidays!"
Tip: Here, I distressed the edge of the foam letters to match the distressing on the edge of the card.
Tip: to making your own postage stamp like paper... just take a hole punch and punch half circles around your paper. For speed... don't sweat perfection, just punch:)
If you love to make holiday cards there is still plenty of time to help out, CFH is in need of holidays cards to send our armed forces through November 1. Click here are some tips for making cards to send.
I hope you can join me in helping out CFH. I appreciate all of the sacrifices that our nation's armed forces make every day for my children and our country & it is a honor to make some holiday cards for these men and women to send home to their loved ones.
