PLAY

This one is for my baby girl who will start Kindergarten in less than a week. I will never forget this day, she was just so cute... toddling around the yard in that big smile, darling pink stripped dress, matching shoes, and  ringlets in her hair. You hung from those "monkey bars" just like your big sister... SO BIG! Now as you go off to Kindergarten I will miss the days of just hanging out and playing with you... and most I will miss your little hugs... the ones that sneak up from behind, squeeze my legs real tight and nearly trip me to the floor because I don't know they are coming. The ones that are accompanied by the "I love you" in your little tiny voice.

So from the words of Michael Jordan...  I hope that you get to spend all of the days of your young life just playing. Having fun and most importantly enjoying the game of life that you play each and every day!.

Sweet Love

Hello all! How are you doing? We are hanging out, surviving the dog days of summer that have made their appearance far too early this year. The girls had their last 3v3 soccer league game tonight & it was so hot & humid that you could practically swim though the air. We all came home soaking wet and I didn't move an inch... yuck!

We'll now that I'm home soaking up the air, I thought I stop in to share a layout that was created for Spellbinders Paper Arts, called Sweet Love.  It was a fairly simple one to create... super fun to put together. I love to take design elements and repeat them on my projects...

The embossed background and scalloped edges remind me of the lace of a wedding gown. The picture is cut/embossed with Grand Large Labels and matted with a larger cut die on red cardstock. The Spiral Blossom Three flowers accent the ribbon and the tite & sub-title complete that final touches on the page. My dad just had a knee replacement surgery this morning here so I'll be hanging out with the family. Bitty Love

Want to use up some of those extra fabric covered brads that you might have on hand? Consider crafting a mini card like this. Mini cards are great to tuck away as a surprise for your kids or husband in their lunch boxes and brief case. 

Bitty Love Card

To create card:

1) Make card base that measures 3 x 3" from white cardstock.

2) Adhere chevron patterned paper to face of card.

3) Cut lime cardstock square that measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2". Adhere to center of card using foam tape.

4) Cut white cardstock square that measures 2 x 2". Attach brads. Adhere to cardstock.

Zva meets Anna

Hello all! Just dropping in today with a card for you using products from two fabby and elegant manufacturers... Zva Creative and Anna Griffin. This card also features a sneak of some NEW bling that Zva will be debuting next week at the Craft & Hobby Association's summer trade show (yeah!!). Isn't it gorgeous?  Stunning, shiny and beautifully sized for card makers!

 

And talk about gorgeous... how about that flocked paper by Anna Griffin? Technique Tuesday and Zva Creative Joint Blog Hop

Go-to Gal Challenge: Stampin' Up!

Hello and happy Wednesday! Welcome to another installment of Go-to Gal challenge!

On a select Wednesday of the month the Go-to Gals take turns picking a manufacturer and challenge each other to create something using products from that manufacturer. It's a fun little hop to see how we put some of our favorite goodies to use. There are really no rules... some times we all play, some times we don't. But it will ALWAYS be fun!

Today, we are all featuring some new products that were just released by Stampin' Up. You can see everything new at www.stampinup.com. And don't forget to check out their beautiful new catalogue-- its always worth getting just to see all of their great project ideas. 

I had the pleasure of using the new Patio Party Suite of papers and ink colors to create a couple of monogrammed cards for my girls.  Our latest thing is to make and send letters and cards in the mail to grandmas, so I thought they'd get a kick out of these.

Patterned papers are from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper (p.165 in new catalogue). The stamp set is the Morning Post Alphabet (p. 108). I also used the Argyle Embossing Folder (p.189); Raspberry Ripple ink, cardstock and ribbon; and Summer Starfruit ink.

Hello!

I want you all to meet today's card. Its a bit clean and graphic for me, but I love it. I'd LOVE to be a clean & graphic girl, but the honest truth is that I'm just not. So when one pops out of my creative mind, I want to just share it with the world:)

Bountiful Banners

Hello! Happy Friday!!

I have are a few stamped (yes, I said stamped... shock, I know... not something I do a lot) cards to share today. Banners are a trend that are still going strong so hopefully you can get some inspiration for using banners in an elegant way.

Both of these cards are stamped with Anna Griffin's Clear Banner Stamps. It's a great set.. very versatile because it can be used for anything from babies to birthdays to all occasion projects. To create the banners and flags I simply stamped and fussy cut them. All patterned paper is also by Anna Griffin and dies are by Spellbinders™ Paper Arts.

Well I'm off to bed. We've got our last game of soccer tomorrow & I can officially claim that I survived my first season of coaching four and five year olds. Whew!
